If Operating Systems Ran The Airlines...

At this moment, I expect you are glad that Windows, Mac, Linux etc. don't run the software on aeroplanes. Check out the article for a humorous analogy of what would happen if the most common operating systems were the pilot of the plane. A good read!

Custom Case Mods

If you are a half decent engineer, you can make just about anything into a computer case. Take this example, where the bloke has made a Boeing computer case for his father, with lights and plaque.

Read on for more photos, how he made the thing, and other weird and wacky designs and ideas.

Thank You Powweb

[No Sarcasm Intended]
Thank You Powweb!

(Powweb = my website hosters)

Probably due to product competition, Powweb have now upgraded their storage space to 300GB, bandwidth to 3TB/mo and defualt allocation of MySQL databases to 75 (from 5).

Although I won't use the space (I don't quite use 1GB yet, and it was 40GB before), and I could proudly say I was only using about 10% of my daily bandwidth in a whole year (on the old figure!), I will use these databases frequently.

I have been very critcial recently - Powweb Spam, Migration Woes, Downtime, FTP Problems, MySQL moving, no WebFTP, Webmail being rubbish... But this is a really valuable upgrade, and does indeed appease me. I've got around the rest of the problems, and am now at the stage where I am happy to refer people again.

So, once, again, many thanks for your free upgrade!

[PS: Existing Customers have to REQUEST the upgrade from Support. Its easy, just mention it and they'll sort it for you. Bit of cheek I know, but I don't mind]

The Most Annoying Things About Windows Vista

PC World (with help from Yahoo News), has compiled a list of the most annoying things about Vista. With its benefits I agree. And will somebody please tell my bus driver that what he's been told by a friend about Vista always killing a 256MB laptop is twaddle. Thanks. Rant Over.
